ketamine-assisted THERAPY
Georgia, California, Colorado, and Florida

Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) Combines the use of ketamine with structured psychotherapy to facilitate change.

Ketamine can alter perception, reduce rigid patterns of thinking, and increase access to emotional material that may be difficult to reach even in therapy.

The emphasis here is not on the medication alone, but on how it is used within a therapeutic process.

KAP involves preparation, the dosing session itself (typically conducted in coordination with a prescribing provider), and integration – where the material that emerges is processed and translated into meaningful change.

Without integration, the experience may be interesting or even impactful, but less likely to result in sustained shifts.

This work is often used when people feel stuck in entrenched patterns.

Anxiety

self critical loops
longstanding relational dynamics

The goal is not just symptom relief, but increased flexibility in how you relate to your thoughts, emotions, and internal patterns over time.

My approach to ketamine-assisted psychotherapy is grounded in a clear understanding of how change happens.

The medication is not treated as a standalone solution. It is one component of a broader process that includes careful preparation, targeted support during the experience, and structured integration afterward.

I draw from Internal Family Systems (IFS) and other evidence-based approaches to help you make sense of what emerges during ketamine sessions.

This often involves identifying and working with different internal states or patterns that become more accessible during the experience, and then translating that access into changes that hold outside of session.

The process is individualized and collaborative. Some clients use ketamine to access material that has been difficult to reach; others use it to shift rigid cognitive or emotional patterns.

In all cases, the focus is on helping you integrate the experience in a way that translates into something you can actually use in your day-to-day life. The goal is not just to have a meaningful experience during dosing, but to create changes that persist afterward.

This work is for adults who feel stuck in patterns that have not shifted through traditional therapy alone, or who are looking for a different entry point into therapeutic work.

Many clients have experience with therapy and insight into their patterns, but find that insight has not translated into meaningful or lasting change.

Common concerns include depression, anxiety, chronic self-criticism, and entrenched relational or identity patterns.

Some clients feel emotionally blocked or disconnected; others feel overwhelmed by repetitive thought loops or internal conflict.

There is often a sense of knowing what the problem is, but not being able to shift it.

KAP may also be appropriate for individuals interested in psychedelic-assisted approaches who want a structured, clinically grounded process rather than a purely self-directed experience.

This includes people seeking support with preparation and integration, whether or not ketamine is ultimately used.

The aim is to help you access and work with underlying patterns in a way that allows for greater flexibility, less reactivity to internal experiences, and more sustained change over time.

How Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy Works

Appropriate Evaluations

In all cases, ketamine must be prescribed and managed by a licensed medical provider who conducts an appropriate medical and psychiatric evaluation prior to initiating treatment.

This evaluation is typically completed directly with the prescriber and may include additional assessments or labs they determine are necessary.

Protocols + At-Home Safety

Clients are at home during an experiental session and self-administer the medicine, typically via oral lozenge. I am connected with the client via telehealth at all times, from prior to administration of the medicine until the client has fully recovered from its effects.

There are a number of health and safety protocols that we will have firmly in place prior to any experiential session.

Consent and Ongoing Communication

With your written consent, I coordinate with your prescribing provider as part of the treatment process.

This allows for ongoing communication about how the ketamine-assisted psychotherapy is progressing and supports clinical decision-making related to the medication, including any adjustments the prescriber may make over time.

Referrals + Process

Sometimes clients are referred to me by a psychiatrists or other provider who specializes in ketamine therapy, who a client is already working with.

In other cases, a client might not have a relationship with a prescribing physician, in which case I can help get them connected with someone appropriate.
